The Essential Care plan is foundational to a lifetime of Living Beautifully! Specialty enzymes and low-strength acids lift dead cells to gently soften and polish the skin. Keeping your lymphatic system healthy and clear is imperative to your optimal health.
What is the lymphatic system?
The circulation system can be broken down into two distinct parts that work in symphony, supplying all cells with nutrients and removing the naturally occurring wastes that result from cellular metabolism. The first is the blood supply that delivers nutrients and oxygen through a closed loop system, pumped by the heart. The second is the lymphatics, responsible for removing all remaining cellular debris. Because it has no pump of its own, the lymphatics are a much more slow-moving system that relies on things like muscular movement or diaphragmatic breathing as in walking to push the fluid along its way.
How does the lymphatic massage work?
Lymphatic massage uses a very light touch to gently stretch the skin in rhythmic strokes, activating the flow of lymph through the vessels. Directing fluids away from congested areas relieves aches and pains while restoring a sense of well-being. Why is lymphatic drainage especially important with cosmetic surgery?
Surgery is an invasive means of providing a positive outcome for our health or our sense of beauty. While the outcome of cosmetic surgery may hold a high value, the process of getting there requires a great degree of patience and persistence. Swelling is produced by all surgeries and is a natural part of the healing process. Managing post-operative swelling goes a long way in producing the best possible final results. Liposuction, along with other methods of cosmetic surgery is very disruptive to the lymphatic system. The increase of post-surgical fluids combined with this disruption of the lymph pathways present a challenge to the healing process. This is why compression garments are vital. Your doctor will direct you to the appropriate garments to support your recovery. Many doctors these days are also recommending lymphatic massage to further improve your healing response.

Check with your doctor to see if a lymphatic massage is right for you.
It is strongly suggested that you consider including postoperative lymphatic massage in your healing plan, and where possible to schedule it in advance. Laurie Taylor offers an initial package of 6 1-hour sessions with the option of continuing with individual sessions as needed at the same per session rate.

The progressive Peels Program is a series of 4 consecutive peeling treatments designed to rejuvenate your skin. By layering the treatments one upon the next, a significant result can be achieved without downtime or a drastic peeling experience.
